Queensland Youth Justice Practitioners Guide
Sep 7, 2018
Legal Aid Queensland have published the “Youth Justice Practitioners Guide.” This guide is designed for lawyers who appear in the Children’s Court so they can be aware of the specific provisions of the Youth Justice Act, yet it contains useful information for youth workers regarding the rights of a child (a young person aged 18 and under) in police and court proceedings. The guide outlines the Youth Justice Act in a clear and logical manner including the principles of youth justice such as the vulnerability and accountability of children, police diversion options and provisions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
