Association between marijuana use and risk of cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Dec 6, 2019

The Journal of the American Medical Association Network Open access edition has published an article titled “Association between marijuana use and risk of cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis”. The article identified 25 English language studies that assessed cannabis use and the risk of developing lung, head and neck, urogenital and other cancers.  The study found that regular cannabis use was associated with the development of testicular cancers, although the strength of the evidence was low. The evidence associating cannabis use with other types of cancer remains unclear.
