Filter Magazine has recently published a photo essay titled “Inside Australia’s Safe Consumption Sites.” The photo essay shows inside Australia’s two medically supervised injecting centres - the King’s Cross Medically Supervised Injecting Centre (MSIC), and Richmond’s Medically Supervised Injecting Room (MSIR). The photo essay shows how these services operate. People are provided with a clean booth, assistance finding veins, and are then monitored after injecting in case of overdose or any other kind of adverse reaction.
