The launch of Queensland Alcohol and other Drug Treatment and Harm Reduction Outcomes Framework

Mar 22, 2019

The Queensland Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment and Harm Reduction Outcomes Framework (or the ‘THROF’), was developed by the Queensland Alcohol and other Drug Sector Network, a network of of AOD agencies including Dovetail, Insight, QNADA, QAIHC, QISMC, APSAD, Queensland Mental Health Commission and the Mental Health Alcohol & Other Drugs Branch, Queensland Department of Health. The framework provides a shared language and common approach to measuring outcomes. It is also designed to assist the sector to communicate the aims of AOD treatment and harm reduction interventions. The outcome measures are organised into three domains: client, organisational or system level indicators. The framework allows services and policy makers to start to look at ways of improving outcomes, both for people accessing AOD treatment or harm reduction services, and for the broader community.
