May 10, 2019
The Australian Indigenous Alcohol and Other Drugs Knowledge Centre (The Knowledge Centre) has published a new review of kava use and supply issues among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The Knowledge Centre have developed two resources, including a factsheet and information video to support workers in understanding and addressing kava use with clients. The resources look at the following:
- What is kava and how do people use it?
- What are the effects?
- The health impacts of kava use.
- The social impacts of kava use.
- Kava regulation in Australia.
- What works to reduce kava use among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people?
