
Updated Methamphetamine Treatment Guidelines 2019

Turning Point has released the 2nd edition of the “Methamphetamine Treatment Guidelines”. The guidelines were developed to help health professionals in the clinical management of methamphetamine use disorder and related presentations.
The updated guidelines provide recommendations based on current evidence and best practice for the management of methamphetamine use and withdrawal. The guidelines include:
- the management of acute and complex presentations, including behavioural disturbances and polydrug use;
- cognitive impairment and comorbid mental health symptoms;
- recommendations for reducing harm, including injecting drug use;
- working with specific populations, and supporting families.
