Close to home: young people and the impact of alcohol and drug use by family and peers

Sep 20, 2019

Mission Australia conducts an annual survey to find out about the issues that matter most to young people. This year, they have developed a sub report which looks specifically at the young people who agreed that “alcohol and drugs are a problem for my family / peers” and compared their responses with those who disagreed with that statement. The report titled “Close to home: young people and the impact of alcohol and drug use by family and peers” found that the group experiencing impacts of family or peer alcohol and other drug use reported lower levels of happiness and decreased positive feelings about their future.
