Complaint Handling Guide: Upholding the rights of children and young people
Sep 6, 2019
In August 2019 the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet released a publication titled "Complaint Handling Guide: Upholding the rights of children and young people". This publication came as a result of findings from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse Final Report, which showed that many organisations do not have clear complaint handling policies and procedures.
This document was created to assist services and organisations with their complaint policies through providing practical advice on how to develop, implement and maintain a thorough complaint handling process. This is a great tool to assist you to review how complaints are managed within your organisation. Within our work it is crucial that we allow opportunities for young people’s voices to be heard.
