FARE Annual Alcohol Poll 2020
Aug 28, 2020
The Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) have released the findings from their annual alcohol poll. The poll surveys people’s perceptions of alcohol use and policy as well as their own drinking behaviours and knowledge about alcohol related harms. This year’s report finds that even before covid-19 lockdowns, Australians were drinking more than previous years, and the most common location for drinking was at home.
In particular, 73% of those drinking alcohol reported drinking within their home, or someone else’s home. 67% of people reported they consume the most alcohol in a single setting at home. The report highlights the increase of home-delivery services for alcohol, which may have an impact on Australian’s alcohol consumption.
