International Overdose Awareness Day - 31 August 2020

31 August marks International Overdose Awareness Day for 2020.  Overdose Awareness Day is an annual day which raises awareness of overdose risk and aims to reduce the stigma of drug related deaths. 
International Overdose Awareness Day may be an opportunity for your workplace to discuss overdose prevention and also to highlight the importance of remembering those who have passed due to overdose.  You may still be working with family members of those who have lost a loved one due to overdose and this day could be a way to commemorate this loss. 

Drug overdose is preventable and is an important area to continue to discuss.  There are many ways you can support the day including hosting an event, sharing resources or using this as an opportunity to raise awareness.
