New standards for mental health apps in Australia
Dec 4, 2020
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care were commissioned in 2018 to develop a set of National standards for online mental health services and apps in response to the rise in smartphone apps that are designed to provide mental health treatment and support. The recently released standards aim to improve the quality of mental health apps and online services in Australia. The actions included in the standards address things like how these online services will respond to someone at risk of self harm as well as privacy standards and data security.
