Australian guidelines to reduce health risks from drinking alcohol
Jan 24, 2020
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) are seeking public consultation on their recently released draft of revised “Australian guidelines to reduce health risks from drinking alcohol”.
The guidelines are designed to help Australians make informed decisions on their alcohol consumption by providing advice based on the most recent evidence on alcohol related harms to health.
The new draft guidelines suggest men and women drink no more than 10 standard drinks in one week, and no more than 4 standard drinks on any one day. Children, young people, breastfeeding and pregnant women are recommended not to drink any alcohol.
Public feedback submissions close 5pm (AEDT) 24 February 2020.
For more information or to make a submission visit the NHMRC website.
