Global Drug Survey Covid-19 Special Edition: First results are in

The Global Drug Survey conducted a special edition of their online survey, looking at changes in alcohol and other drug use in response to covid-19.  The first results are in, and there are some fascinating insights emerging. More than 40000 people around the world completed the survey, with around 1900 responses from Australia. Of the Australian respondents, 27.1% said their drinking had increased a little, and 14.4% reported that their drinking had increased a lot. With regards to cannabis use, 22.7% reported their cannabis use had increased a little, and 25.9% reported their cannabis use had increased a lot.  MDMA use saw a very different pattern. Of the Australian respondents, 16.3% reported their MDMA use had decreased a little, and 39.5% reported that their MDMA use had decreased a lot. Further data collection is underway, and full results will be published in July, 2020.
