Podcast by Let’s Talk: Drugs, Alcohol and Your Mental Health

“You got this mate” is a website that targets men in rural regions, and provides information and resources on mental health. The site includes a regular podcast series, called “Let’s talk” which recently features an episode on “Drugs, Alcohol and Your Mental Health”.  This episode explores the entwined nature of substance use and mental health.  The podcast speaks with four individuals, two people with substance use and mental health histories, a drug and alcohol research clinician and a drug and alcohol worker.  Finding support can often be tricky when it is hard to differentiate whether mental health or substance use is the primary concern is a theme which is explored in detail from the perspective of lived experience. The podcast (and website) are also unique in their focus on the issues faced by men in rural Australia.
