Drug Science Podcast: “Trauma and Stress” with Dr Gabor Maté

Drug Science is an independent, science-led drugs charity based in the UK, founded by Professor David Nutt. In this episode titled “Trauma and Stress”, Professor Nutt interviews Hungarian-Canadian physician, Dr Gabor Maté, who has a keen interest in early life adversity and its impact on childhood development and consequential susceptibility for people to not only developing a substance use disorder but to increased likelihood of developing diseases such as cancer and autoimmune diseases.  Also discussed in this episode is Dr Maté’s views on psychedelics including Ayahuasca for the treatment of both mental and physical conditions.
