International Overdose Awareness Day - 31st of August
Aug 20, 2021
International Overdose Awareness day is being held on 31 August. Coordinated by The Pennington Institute, it is the world's largest annual campaign to end overdose; remember those who have died as a result of overdose, and acknowledge the grief of family and friends left behind. With overdose being one of the world's worst public health crises, the awareness raising campaign seeks to stimulate discussion and action about evidence-based overdose prevention.
Ten events are being held across Queensland this year including in Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. You can check out event details on the dedicated International Overdose Awareness day website where people can also pay tribute to lost loved ones and access a range of resources.
