MARAM practice guides: Foundation knowledge guide

Aug 13, 2021

The Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) is a Victorian Government document aiming to provide guidance to professionals working with adult or child victim survivors and adults using family violence. The guidelines titled “MARAM practice guides: Foundation knowledge guide”  have recently been updated. Although these guidelines are written for implementation within the Victorian service system, we thought there was some good information provided that Queensland workers might find useful. This includes a section on key concepts for practice which covers things like applying structured professional judgement, assessing risk, risk management, safety planning, cultural responsiveness, using a trauma and violence informed approach and recognising and avoiding collusion. The guidelines provide support for workers working both with victim survivors and perpetrators of family violence.
