Strong Bodies, Calm Minds and Resilient Spirits: Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Health Strategy 2020 - 2023

Jan 29, 2021

"Strong Bodies, Calm Minds and Resilience Spirits: Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Health Strategy 2020-2023" was released in December 2020. The Youth Strategy was developed after QAIHC (Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council) delivered the first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Health Summit (The Summit) in September 2019.

The strategy document outlines perspectives and voices captured at The Summit. The top three issues of personal concern for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people were coping with stress, body image and mental health.

Led by the QAIHC Youth Network, the strategy highlights three strategic solutions to reducing health barriers for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders - leadership, access and equity. The strategy lays out clear actions required to achieve the goals in these areas.
