Podcast: Early intervention and prevention of youth alcohol and other drug use

The Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association podcast series “Pebble in the pond” recently interviewed Queensland's own Professor Leanne Hides on the topic of “Early intervention and prevention of youth AOD use”. Professor Hides is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the development and testing of treatments for primary substance use and comorbid mental disorders in young people.

A large part of Professor Hides research has centered around early intervention and prevention of youth alcohol and other drug use and this is what the episode delves into. 

This includes looking at what good prevention and early intervention works looks like, bridging the gap between the evidence and what gets used in clinical practice and moving towards AOD treatments that are outcomes focused.
