The webinar explores why members of LGBT communities are more likely to use illicit substances than the general population for reasons not just limited to discrimination which has been a popular narative in this space. Instead, Dr Demant suggests that the context where LGBT commmunites socialise is often around licensed premise which plays a role in this increased use among other things.  This webinar also provides an overview of substance use in the LGBT community as well as the perception and views of young community members and stakeholders from Queensland.
