Webinar: “I don’t want to count my drinks… An alternative approach to setting ‘count goals’ as part of an alcohol reduction plan” - Wednesday 20th October, 2021 at 12pm to 1pm (QLD Time)

Oct 15, 2021

Turning Point will be presenting a seminar titled “I don’t want to count my drinks… An alternative approach to setting ‘count goals’ as part of an alcohol reduction plan” on Wednesday 20th October, 2021 at 12pm to 1pm Queensland time. Associate Professor Petra Staiger from Deakin University will describe some of the challenges with usual drink counting, which could negatively impact treatment adherence. Instead, Professor Staiger will propose the Chronos Method for setting alcohol reduction goals as an alternative to drink counting.  The Chronos Method sets limits on the frequency of the problem behaviour, without the need to count drinks. This method could provide a new way of assisting people who are looking to reduce their alcohol consumption.
