HeadStrong - Free curriculum to help students better understand mental health while developing personal wellbeing

Apr 29, 2022

HeadStrong, developed by the Blackdog Institute, is a free curriculum-aligned online mental health program designed for teachers to help students build better mental health, reduce stigma and improve overall well being. The resource has recently undergone a research trial with evidence showing that it can increase mental health literacy, a vital skill for breaking down barriers to achieving good mental health.

HeadStrong aligns with the Personal, Social and Community Health strand of the National Health and Physical Education (HPE) curriculum for year 9 and 10 students. The program was designed and developed by researchers at the Black Dog Institute, with consultation from subject matter experts and educators.
