Video: Connecting with Care Cairns - Fighting for a Hep C free future

A documentary film has been released as part of the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users featuring the life changing moment a patient was told by a doctor she no longer had hepatitis C. “Connecting with Care Cairns” highlights the innovative work being done to engage the community in the testing and treatment of hepatitis C, contributing to the eradication of the virus worldwide.
In the film, a local resident talks about her treatment of hepatitis C at Cairns Sexual Health Service. “The doctor had a big smile on his face and said, ‘you’re free of hepatitis’, “It’s a second throw at life for me.”
