August 31st - International overdose awareness day #iOAD2022

International Overdose Awareness Day is held on the 31st August each year and aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of drug-related death. The theme “Time to Remember. Time to Act”, acknowledges the grief felt by family and friends remembering those who have died or had a permanent injury as the result of a drug overdose, plus sharing the message that overdose death is preventable. There are many ways to show your support including wearing an “end overdose” t-shirt, attending an event, downloading promotional resources to share within your service, or posting a tribute on social media.
