
Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services in Australia Annual Report 2020-21

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare have published the “Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services in Australia Annual Report 2020-21.” The report includes data from the AOD national minimum dataset - a dataset that all specialist AOD treatment services in Australia contribute to. In 2020-21 there were a total of 50,633 treatment episodes - this represents a doubling of the number of treatment episodes when compared with 2011-12 figures. Alcohol continued to be the most commonly reported principal drug of concern, followed by cannabis and amphetamines.
