E-cigarettes and vaping - new cessation guidance resource

May 6, 2022

The Canadian Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) have recently released a guidance resource and accompanying assessment tools to assist healthcare workers in assisting vapers who want to quit vaping. Although there is currently limited research to provide evidence for what works in vaping cessation, the guidelines have been developed with the research that is available and the opinions of experts in the field.  Within the ‘Assessment Tools’ document, there is an adapted version of the Hooked on Nicotine Checklist (HONC) which was developed for use with young people aged 12+ to identify where an individual has lost autonomy over their nicotine use and therefore may be dependent.
