Declines in youth drinking: An unexpected development
Nov 18, 2022
Positive Choices hosted a webinar featuring Associate Professor Michael Livingston titled “Declines in youth drinking: An unexpected development.” Since the early 2000s, there has been a decline in drinking amongst young people in Australia and other high income countries. Among 14-17 year olds, rates of risky drinking have fallen from 30% in 2001 to 9% in 2019. In this presentation, A/Professor Livingston provides a summary of these trends and gives an overview of some of the theories around what might be driving this trend.
