New Dovetail Video: Working with Trauma in Youth Alcohol and Other Drug Work

We recently produced a short practice video titled “Working with Trauma in Youth Alcohol and Other Drug Work”. We interviewed youth AOD workers, who shared their thoughts and advice on how to work with young people in a trauma informed way. Many young people in AOD treatment have experiences of trauma, and addressing trauma effectively is one of the keys to assisting a young person to develop control over their substance use. The youth AOD workers talk about some of the strategies that they’ve learned from working with young people and remind us of what it is that they enjoy about working with young people. 

A big heartfelt thank you goes to each of these workers who took time out of their busy schedules to sit down and share their practice wisdom with us. You might notice some familiar faces!
