Webinar recording available now: Understanding the changing cultural status of alcohol for young people

The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) recently aired a webinar titled “Understanding the changing cultural status of alcohol for young people”.  Presented by Dr Amy Pennay, a Senior Research Fellow in the field of sociology and public health.  Dr Pennay’s recent work has  focused on youth drinking practices, (sub)cultures of drinking, and intersections of drinking and policy with social determinants such as gender, class, race, place and sexuality.  The webinar reviews recent qualitative work, and draws on contemporary insights from sociologies of youth, risk and leisure, to discuss the recent phenomena of youth declines in drinking in high income countries across the globe.
