Trends in the availability and types of drugs sold on the internet via cryptomarkets

Apr 7, 2023

The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) have published a research report titled “Trends in the availability and types of drugs sold on the internet via cryptomarkets, February 2022 – January 2023.” Cryptomarkets are online marketplaces that exist on encrypted internet networks. Many cryptomarkets specialise in the sale of unregulated drugs. This bulletin provides information on the types of drugs being offered for sale, as well as the number of crytomarkets operating, and the total number of sale listings. In this bulletin, the authors found that there had been a decrease in listings for methamphetamine across the time period, while cannabis remained the most commonly listed substance.
