International Overdose Awareness Day - 31 August 2023

International Overdose Awareness Day is held on the 31st of August each year and aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of drug-related death. The 2023 theme is “Recognizing those people who go unseen,”. It honours the people whose lives have been altered by overdose. They are the family and friends grieving the loss of a loved one; workers in healthcare and support services extending strength and compassion; or spontaneous first responders who selflessly assume the role of lifesaver. There are many ways you or your service can show support on this day.
