Take home naloxone program – a new streamlined process to become an Authorised Alternative Supplier

Aug 4, 2023

Naloxone is a life-saving medication, used to reverse opioid overdose.   Its accessibility and effectiveness have played a crucial role in reducing opioid-related fatalities. The national Take Home Naloxone (THN) program has made this medication readily available to those at risk of opioid overdose.  Queensland non-government organisations are able to provide THN to people at risk of opioid overdose and their family members, friends and caregivers, as Approved Alternative Suppliers (AAS).  The process to become an AAS has become more streamlined.

Go to the Queensland Health website for more information on how your service can participate in the THN program.
