Intergenerational trauma and mental health

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has published a research report titled “Intergenerational trauma and mental health.” The report involved a comprehensive review of research and identifies current best-practice policies and programs. The paper used an “Indigenous Standpoints” approach to the research, which means that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research and voices are privileged within the report. The report describes some of the characteristics on effective programs, which are best designed locally and Indigenous led.
