World Drug Report 2023
Jun 30, 2023
The United Nations “World Drug Report 2023” has just been published. Each year, the United Nations collate data from around the world, looking at changes in drug supply and demand. This year’s report focuses on several key emerging trends including the growing supply of synthetic drugs. In North America, synthetic fentanyl has resulted in massive increases in fatal overdose. Fentanyl and its analogues are easy to produce, and highly potent.
While we haven’t seen widespread fentanyl contamination in the Australian drug market yet, it’s possible that in future we may see this issue emerge.
The “World Drug Report 2023” includes an online portal that gives you easy access to whole range of data, alongside a series of reports that go into specific topics.
