40% of adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 experience significant sleep problems, which increases the risk of developing anxiety or depression. Addressing sleep disturbance is essential as a foundation for physical, emotional and social wellbeing. The smartphone app, Sleep Ninja was designed and developed in consultation with youths, parents/carers, psychologists, counsellors, and sleep experts to provide teens with the resources to improve their sleep quality and develop healthy sleep habits. The app is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and offers six ‘training sessions’ to help young people to get the rest they need. Sleep Ninja is available for free on the App Store or
