NDARC recorded webinar: Psychosis and stimulants now available!

The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) recently hosted a webinar titled, ‘Psychosis and stimulants.’ Associate Professor Julia Lappin, Clinical Director of the NSW Tertiary Referral Service for Psychosis, shed light on the potential effects of stimulant drugs, such as amphetamines, on inducing or aggravating psychotic experiences. This discussion delved into various aspects, including a brief overview of psychotic symptoms, an understanding of the biological basis linking stimulants and psychosis, epidemiological evidence showcasing an increased risk of psychosis associated with stimulant use, and the important clinical implications these findings bear.
